Craftsmanship

The Constellation is built the way an aircraft is built, and unafraid to show it. The rivets are on the outside because a rivet is the honest way to hold a shell together, and hiding it would make it a decoration.

A carbon-fibre telescopic column, drawn to the hand and locked without a wobble. Turbine wheels on a suspension that absorbs the concourse. A grade-5 titanium zip with an integrated yoke — a fastener engineered like a flight part, not chosen from a catalogue.

Every piece is inspected under raking light, where a flaw that a photograph forgives will show. Wheels are run before they are fitted. Zips are cycled by hand.

Luxury is not extravagance. It is a tolerance held, and a part that does not fail in its third year.
